Perfectly Acquainted
"it became him...to make the captain of their salvation
perfect through sufferings." - Hebrews 2:10
Before the cross, God chose a man to stand as our High Priest...at the cross,
God chose His own Son. Before the cross, our High Priest offered sacrifices on
our behalf...at the cross, He offered Himself. "We have a great high priest,
that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God". (Hebrews 4:14) It's
difficult to stand in behalf of another person whose circumstances you are
unable to become acquainted with, but that is exactly what the High Priest
must do. Most of us have found crossroads in our life where we have felt that
nobody could possibly comprehend, not even God, but we fail to acknowledge
the fact that our High Priest, Jesus Christ, became perfectly acquainted with
it all. In fact, when you and I suffer, He suffers...when you and I are
persecuted, He is persecuted...your trials have now become His. This truth
forces us to answer a simple question, "Will we endure with the perspective
that Christ maintained?" Hebrews 5:8 says, "Though he were a Son, yet learned
he obedience by the things which he suffered". Do you sincerely desire to
become obedient unto Him? Have you realized that the greatest avenue of
learning obedience is at your personal crossroad? Through His sufferings,
Christ became perfectly acquainted with you...through your sufferings, will
you now become perfectly acquainted with Him?
