Finding Direction
"I conferred not with flesh and blood" - Galatians 1:16
Where is your source of direction when decisions arise in your life? One of the
most destructive traps we fall into is believing that our partial commitments to
Christ are somehow glorifying and pleasing in His sight. We love to shut our
eyes and ears when we hear our Lord say, "Ye cannot serve God and mammon."
(Luke 16:13) Mammon is simply everything in our life through which God cannot
receive glory.....everything in which we fail to acknowledge His divine and Holy
will. Proverbs 3:6 says, "In ALL thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct
your paths." The very instant we choose to forsake walking in His Spirit and begin
conferring over thoughts and decisions apart from God's input - this is the exact
moment when we are immediately overtaken by everything in our flesh which wars
against His Spirit and will. "They that are in the flesh cannot please God."
(Romans 8:8) How quickly we forget that "he that soweth to his flesh shall of the
flesh reap corruption". (Galatians 6:8) If we have a true desire to see God's
direction for our lives so that His heavenly vision can be accomplished through us,
we must say as Paul did, "I conferred not with flesh and blood." Don't fail to
acknowledge Jesus Christ by making your own decisions, allow Him to direct the
path..... "be not wise in thine own eyes; fear the LORD, and depart from
evil." (Proverbs 3:7)
