God's Champion
"he that is least among you all, the same shall be great" - Luke 9:48
Who is "great" in your life, you or Christ? One of the most convicting aspects
of our Lord's life is unfolded when we witness and ponder His simple
humbleness. When everything within our sole is striving to exalt us in the
sight of men, how do we become like our Savior, who "made himself of no
reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant"? (Philippians 2:7) Our
minds have produced a large variety of philosophies stating the requirements
for becoming a champion for God, yet they all come crashing down when God's
truth is revealed. Our motives and methods are quick to become centered on self,
not Christ, and we even disguise the sin by carrying it out in His name or for
"the cause of Christ". People seeking to elevate themselves to no eternal avail
are found everywhere we turn, but the true champions of God, who are busy
preparing the way of the Lord, are nowhere to be recognized in the midst of such
pride, rather they are found with the same words on their lips that John the
Baptist spoke, "He must increase, but I must decrease." (John 3:30) If we want
to see Christ become "great" in our life we MUST "die daily." (1 Corinthians 15:31)
Death to self yields room for the life of Christ to be manifested in us.....is
this happening in your life? Are your motives centered around His honor and
glory or yours? Would you live for Christ if no one ever recognized your name?
Are you ready to truly become "great"?
