Standing Fast

"Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved." - Philippians 4:1

Steadfast, immovable, unwavering......these words beautifully describe the everlasting love and passion that our Lord has in His heart for us, but do they accurately describe the response that has been demonstrated in your life because of His love? First John 3:1 says, "Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us". The thought of His unwavering love for us is something we need to learn to get caught away in. While everything and everyone around us would seem to draw us away and hinder us from standing fast in our commitments to Christ the power of His love is always steadfast, immovable, and unwavering.....always there to keep us focused on Him and Him alone. If you are finding that the characteristics of His infinite love for you are no longer defining the love and passion in your life for Him then it's time to sit down and simply gaze upon the love that He has for you. Remember that everything that could possibly be done to keep Christ from shedding His blood on the cross for you was attempted, but none of those things distracted Him from focusing on you.....are you allowing these same things to distract you from focusing on Him so that you are no longer standing fast in your faith?
