Please pray for us as we are going through some pretty strong attacks from the devil. We recently had a very successful VBS and 2 day revival and so, as we know when we are busy doing God's work the devil will attack.
First of all, please pray for our family's protection as our home was recently broken into and robbed. I came home last night (May 30) at 10pm and there were 2 men in the house. When I unlocked the door at the fence they heard me and quickly escaped. By God's grace no one was hurt and very little was lost. They tied Kristine's hands and placed her and Josh in the bathroom while they searched through our home looking for money. Since we have very little money they were dissappointed and Kristine even heard them complaining because there was hardly any money in the house. The only things they got were approx. P6,000 in cash, Kristine's cellhpone, our digital cam (which is a very inexpensive model), a bag, and a bar of soap. Yes, they took a bar of soap which I later found in the rice field where they escaped; it must have SLIPPED out of their hands while they were running away...we laughed about that! When I came home I could have chosen to chase the thieves immediately and could have caught them, but I looked first for Kristine and Josh, which gave them enough time to easily escape as it was very dark outside. Pray that Kristine will overcome this emotionally as she was traumatized somewhat. They put a knife to her throat and told her not to scream so this was very scary for her to endure. Josh was almost asleep when the incident occurred so he wasn't really affected by it, although he does remember seing the 2 men. I myself felt some of the worst anger I have ever felt in my lifesince someone threatened my wife with a knife; I wouldn't be too angry if I myself was threatened, but it's totally different when someone threatens your family. We pray however that these people would be saved. They looked through my boxes of Bibles and Gospel tracts, etc and I think they might have actaully taken a Bible and some Gospel tracts with them! If so, we pray that God would use this to bring them to His saving grace.
Secondly, it looks like we will have to disfellowship a family in the Church who does not want to repent of sin. Please pray that they will get right with God.
Sunday afternoon I preacehed about joy from Philippians 4:4 and how that we always have a reason to rejoice in our Savior, no matter what happens to us. God surely allowed us to be put to the test, but we are forever rejoicing in Jesus Christ and no man can take that away from us, praise God on high! The Church continues to grow in number and faith and we're always seing new people and more getting ready to be baptized; truly the Lord's Church is indestructible (Matt 16:18)!!!
Thanks and God bless.
